CNA Hardy is headquartered in London and Chicago and they opened a Birmingham office in the heart of the city, next to the cathedral. In anticipation of this project, I invested in a photography trip to Birmingham to offer local images to my client. After a site visit, three walls were identified as suitable for artwork. A main feature of this recently renovated office was the original brick walls. Following discussions with the client, abstract black and white photographs of Birmingham were chosen as a constrast to the colour of the bricks in the main open office and two colour panoramic images of Birmingham and London were chosen for the meeting room and private office respectively. The client’s preference was for the diasec medium which suited the clean design of the offices. I delivered the artwork personally and arranged and supervised installation of the works.

"Alex’s extensive portfolio of international cities themed our new London offices at 20 Fenchurch Street. His work was selected for the stunning imagery and high quality of presentation on the diasec medium. Although he already had most of our office locations in his portfolio he was keen to fill any gaps, which he did on his own initiative. The work was completed, delivered and installed all to the agreed dates and we were all very happy with the final results. Following the London office I had the pleasure of working with Alex on many projects over several years, opening new offices and refurbishing existing offices in the UK, Europe and Asia. Alex always went the extra mile and visited the local offices prior to opening so he could see the space and meet the local staff. His mock-ups of his art on the walls were very useful to visualise size options on the wall. Whilst in these cities he would also photograph the local landmarks again to offer something unique for each project. He delivered the art himself to ensure it arrived safely and on time and he arranged and supervised professional art installation. Alex's dedication was evident when he drove to Luxembourg for a day to improve the sharpness in one corner of a photo that was going to be printed large. The results were excellent and Alex’s attention to detail was clear to see. Over the years I always received great comments from staff and I'm very happy to recommend Alex to others.”
