Prior to moving to their new headquarters in 20 Fenchurch Street, my proposal to theme the Meeting Rooms with art of Markel International’s global office locations was chosen. Several of these rooms had digital screens with no room for printed artwork. Therefore, I suggested four images per location on a time loop - sunrise, day, sunset and night images - which would correspond to the location represented. Smaller Meeting Rooms with available wall space was chosen to have printed artwork, on the high-end medium diasec. The commission was to photograph all their global office locations. Due to time constraints before move-in, I photographed the majority of locations in 2014. Images from stock libraries were used to temporarily fill in the locations I would then photograph in 2015.
The commission took me to Asia (Dubai, Hong Kong), Europe (Barcelona, Dublin, Madrid, Munich, Rotterdam, Stockholm, Zurich), North America (Montreal, Toronto) and UK cities (Bristol, Leeds, London).
