The best time to photograph at dawn is approximately 45 minutes before sunrise, when the colour of the sky is a deep blue. I was in Frankfurt to capture the more commercial skyscrapers for a client, however, when it is such a clear day I usually wait until the sun rises as a long exposure towards the light can produce beautiful results in cities. It was summer and very early in the morning, before river traffic had the chance to disturb the peaceful water.
